For me, forgiveness and compassion are always linked:
how do we hold people accountable for wrongdoing and
yet at the same time remain in touch with their humanity
enough to believe in their capacity to be transformed?

Prayer

God, may we be a people formed in your image. May we
never allow evil to continue in the name of forgiveness and
compassion. May we believe in the capacity of every
person to be transformed. Amen.
